Once Amy realized what Jon did, she crossed her arms. ”Don’t think this you’re free from being grounded.” she told him and gave him a look. “Say goodbye to your dad, we have to get going. You are lucky I grabbed your stuff before I cam here.” she sighed and grabbed her stuff. ”I’ll see you later.” she looked back at Rory before getting in the car with Jon. She warned Jon not to tell anyone about what was going on before he left the car.
She called Greg once she was driving again and was surprised that Greg needed to talk to her as well. ”Okay. I’ll head to your flat then.” she told him and made a turn to head to her soon-to-be-ex’s flat. Amelia arrived ten minutes later and knocked on the door, waiting for Greg to answer, nervous about the talk.
Greg opened the door with the ghost of what might have been a smile, once. He sighed and gestured toward the couch and took a seat beside her, staring at the wall. “I.. uh.. went down to the registry office to pick up the wedding license, earlier, like I’d said.” He bit his lip, clearly choosing his next words carefully. “It seems that when Rory filed the papers, the papers were never acted on. For all the good it did, he might as well have been offering them scratch paper. In short, we can’t get married because you already are. You have been, all this time.”
He gave a sad smile and then gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “Just as well. You two were so goofy in love, Amy, I was just a space filler. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always be there if you need me, you and Jon both. But.. ah.. no wedding, at least not for us.”
